Rolex Oyster Perpetual Red Grape Dial Steel Mens Watch 114300

Coco Gauff

19-year-old American tennis player Cori “Coco” Gauff won her first career Grand Slam at the 2023 US Open after beating World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in three sets. As she hoisted her trophy, she was seen wearing the 39mm edition of Rolex’s most accessible watch – the Oyster Perpetual.

The tennis star and Rolex testimonee went for the “Red Grape” model, which is fashioned in steel and hails from the previous generation of the Oyster Perpetual that came out in 2014. It features a vibrant sunray burgundy dial – a hue that hasn’t been available in the OP line since the last decade.

Elegant and practical at the same time, the watch is powered by the Caliber 3130 with a 48-hour power reserve. Truly a great match to Coco’s wine-red ensemble during the championship. Photo from US Open on Instagram

Hublot Big Bang Unico Yellow Magic

Novak Djokovic

On the men’s side of the hardcourt tennis tournament, Serbian athlete and Hublot ambassador Novak Djokovic snatched his 24th major, the most Grand Slam singles titles in men’s tennis history. We spotted him with the Hublot Big Bang Unico Yellow Magic. This timepiece was released in 2021 in a bid to match Pantone’s 2021 color of the year, “Illuminating Yellow.”

Big and bright just like Novak, the Big Bang Unico Yellow Magic is noted for its 42mm polished yellow ceramic case and matching yellow and black structured rubber strap. These are complemented by matte black crown and pushers, and a skeleton dial with yellow-outlined counters, Arabic numerals, and hands. Inside runs the Unico HUB1280 movement, which is visible on the dial side and offers a 72-hour power reserve. Photos from Hublot and US Open on Instagram

Cartier Santos De Rose Gold Silver Dial Mens Watch WGSA0011

Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake was spotted enjoying the sporting event while wearing a Cartier Santos on his wrist. It is a particularly dressy choice but the American singer and songwriter made it work by pairing the watch with a casual green and white checkerboard polo sweater and a classic pair of chinos.

One of Cartier’s oldest collections, the Santos combines legacy, solid construction, and timeless style. Justin opted for the rose gold model with a leather strap in a chic gray hue. The rest of the timepiece is classic Santos: the blued sword-shaped hands, the blue cabochon crown, and the black Roman numerals against the silver dial. Photo from US Open on Instagram

Spike Lee

Oscar-winning director Spike Lee was also spotted enthusiastically cheering on Coco Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka during their match while wearing a gold Rolex Daytona, paired with a black and white ensemble and his signature cross-pendant chains.

The filmmaker slash actor’s choice Daytona for the event is housed in a 40mm case made of yellow gold and features a champagne dial with black registers, and markers and hands filled with Chromalight. A black Cerachrom tachymeter bezel adds framing and contrast, while the black Oysterflex bracelet makes for a sportier look.  Photo from US Open on Instagram

Rolex 'Nipple dial' Submariner Ref. 1680/8

Justin Theroux

American actor Justin Theroux opted for his personal favorite: a vintage yellow gold Rolex Submariner to match his slick all-black outfit.

Justin’s Submariner reportedly comes from his birth year, 1971, and features a “nipple dial” characterized by bulging applied hour markers and tritium lume. Moreover, it includes a yellow gold bracelet, a black bezel with yellow gold markings, and an acrylic crystal – a signature element of most vintage Rolex watches. Cartier Panthere Small Yellow Gold Silver Dial Ladies Watch WGPN0008

Kylie Jenner

Media maven and business tycoon Kylie Jenner also went for an all-black look when she attended the tennis tournament, which she paired with an elegant timepiece from Cartier: the Panthère in yellow gold.

A symbol of sophistication and style, the Panthère is geometrically similar to the Santos de Cartier, but with smaller dimensions. Kylie owns the small version, which measures 23mm x 30mm in diameter and features a mirror-polished finish and a high-performing quartz movement under the hood. A linked brick-lay bracelet completes the elegant look. Photo from British Glamour on Twitter

Breitling Navitimer Automatic 36 U17327211A1U1

Charlize Theron

Charlize Theron is no stranger to Breitling watches, having been an ambassador of the brand for many years. Thus, it comes as no surprise that she wore one of the most recent Navitimer models at the 2023 US Open.

Perfectly suited to active lifestyles, the Navitimer originally debuted as an oversized pilot’s watch but has since made smaller sizes to cater to women. Charlize went for the stainless steel and 18k red gold edition with a mother of pearl dial and round-cut diamond indices. Other standout features include a beaded bezel, a slim case profile, a two-tone link metal band, and the signature circular slide rule, all of which give the watch an unmistakable appearance. Photos from Breitling and Daily Mail Celebrity on Twitter
