His choice model is the ref 116610 from 2010, which brought a series of advancements while retaining the classic Submariner aesthetic. 

This watch comes in a 40mm steel “Super Case”, characterized by thicker lugs and crown guards. Its bezel is made of Cerachrom, enhancing both the watch’s functionality and aesthetic appeal, while the Maxi dial is in black with larger markers. Loved for its ruggedly handsome look, the ref 116610 also includes an Oyster bracelet with a Glidelock clasp and the Caliber 3135 at its core, which offers a 48-hour power reserve. IWC Portuguese Perpetual Calendar Blue Dial

At the 2024 Oscars Luncheon held in February 2024, it wasn’t just Sterling’s red suit that piqued the interest of fashion and watch enthusiasts. The actor’s wrist candy of the night, an IWC Portuguese Perpetual Calendar, also made headlines for its elegance and fine craftsmanship, making it the ideal complement to his distinguished style.

Sterling chose one of the 2014 novelties with a white gold body measuring 44.2mm-wide. This metal finish blends beautifully with the blue face topped with raised Arabic indices, while its calendar inserts a leap day every four years at the end of February and is programmed without manual adjustment until the year 2100.  Powering the watch is the in-house Caliber 51614, which boasts a 168-hour power reserve. IWC Portuguese Chronograph Silver Dial

Sterling, whose wardrobe can be described as understated but impactful, wore a yellow ensemble for one of the promotional interviews for his 2022 film Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul. Topping off his vibrant look is another contemporary IWC Portuguese, this time with a steel finish.

Elegant and sporty at once, the watch in question (ref IW371617) was released in 2020 as the successor to the iconic Portugieser 3714 from 1998. Aside from slightly thicker pushers, it also features a slightly slimmer case measuring 41mm and a similar-looking silver dial with blue elements. The 48-year-old American actor is also a proud owner of a monochromatic-looking IWC Portuguese Automatic watch, the ref IW500703. This model not only stands as a true representation of IWC’s quintessential style but also embodies the essence of a classic everyday timepiece. 

Measuring 42.3mm in diameter, this watch features a stainless steel finish with a black dial, characterized by twin sub-dials for the power reserve display and the 60-second counter.
