The Cartier Drive de Cartier watch is a contemporary addition to the collection, yet it pays homage to the brand's rich history. Inaugurated in 2016, this timepiece draws inspiration from Cartier's tradition of crafting driver's watches. With its unique cushion-shaped case, a departure from Cartier's traditional designs, and a dial reminiscent of a car's radiator grille, this watch exudes a masculine elegance tailored for the discerning gentleman driver.
Regarded as the successor to the discontinued Roadster model from the 2000s, the Drive watch introduces a fresh interpretation of Cartier's design philosophy with its curved yet refined silhouette. Setting itself apart from the iconic rectangular Tanks and round Ballon Bleus, the Drive showcases impeccable proportions and houses in-house movements for enhanced efficiency and precision.
The current Cartier Drive collection showcases a range of complications that elevate its horological sophistication, including retrograde seconds, day/night indicator, moon phase, and flying tourbillon.
Boasting a sleek aesthetic and available in steel, rose gold, and yellow gold variations, the Cartier Drive de Cartier epitomizes the quintessential men's timepiece – combining style and elegance with a hint of sporting luxury.

The Cartier Drive de Cartier is an entirely new design that debuted in 2016. It features a cushion-shaped case that is new to the Cartier catalog. Designed especially for men, the Cartier Drive is inspired by vintage automobiles, with elegant styling cues such as high polish cases, flinque dials, and Cartier's signature Roman numerals and sapphire cabochon crown. As a thin, dressy watch it is more of a daily driver than a high-octane design often associated with chronographs and racing watches.
Cartier Drive watches have a depth rating of 3 bar (or approximately 30 meters or 100 feet). One can safely wear these watches while hand washing and they can withstand water splashes, but they are not intended for use during swimming or snorkeling.
As of 2022, only the Cartier Drive de Cartier Flying Tourbillon watch appears on the Cartier website. However, other versions such as the Automatic, Retrograde, and Extra-Flat are available in the secondary market.
